1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Financial Examinations & Evaluations, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”), on behalf of L. Burke Files, handles information in connection with www.burkefiles.com (the “Site”). The Site is a static informational website. It has no user accounts, no newsletter sign-ups, no comment sections, and no e-commerce. It has one contact form, described in section 2. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not display third-party advertising on the Site.
2. Information You Choose to Send Us
The contact form asks for your name, company, phone number, email address, and message. When you submit it, those details are passed through a form-processing service run by our web developer and delivered to us by email. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated spam; Turnstile may process technical information about your browser and device for that purpose, as described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We use what you send only to respond to your inquiry and, if you engage us, to provide our services.
You can also email us at lbf@feeinc.com. Email you send us is handled with the discretion you would expect from a firm in our line of work; however, ordinary email is not an encrypted channel, so please do not include highly sensitive details in an initial message.
3. Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, the Site uses an analytics service that collects standard technical information about visits, such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, device type, and referring website. We use this information in aggregate to understand how the Site is used. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine it with information from other sources.
StatCounter (provided by StatCounter) collects aggregate visit statistics and may set a cookie for that purpose. StatCounter’s practices are described in its privacy policy.
4. Cookies
The Site itself does not set cookies. The analytics service described above may set its own cookie to distinguish repeat visits. That cookie does not contain personal information you have not provided. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; the Site works fully with cookies disabled.
5. Third-Party Sites
The Site links to third-party websites (for example, LinkedIn and the websites of our related ventures). Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. Review their policies before providing them with information.
6. Data Retention and Security
Aggregate analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of the service described above. Correspondence you send us is retained as long as needed to handle your inquiry or as required for legal and professional obligations. We take reasonable measures appropriate to a firm in the risk management profession to protect information in our possession.
7. Children
The Site is a professional website not directed at children. Consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. In most cases the only personal information we hold is what you have sent us through the contact form or by email. To exercise any privacy right, email lbf@feeinc.com and we will respond as required by applicable law.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we change how the Site handles information, we will update this page and revise the “Updated” date above.
